If you have a valid referral and Mental Health Care Plan from your GP, you will be eligible for a rebate of $141.85 for up to 10 sessions per year.

Assessments

We tailor our assessment services to your child’s specific needs and the exact cost will be quoted at your initial consultation.

Depending on the tests being administered, assessment costs can range from $1950 to upwards of $2900. This includes:

• Initial consultation: $250

• Testing session(s): $250 per session, up to 4 sessions may be required

• Comprehensive report: Approximately $1200 for four hours, this will vary depending on complexity and length of report

• Feedback session to discuss results: $250

The total out-of-pocket fee will depend on any private health fund rebates you are entitled to at each of the consultations. Please note, Medicare rebates do not apply to assessments however the Initial Consult may be claimable under Medicare if the client has an active Mental Health Care Plan.

Letters

Reports and letters can be requested from your psychologist and it is up to your psychologist if they deem the request appropriate. The fee for this will reflect the time taken for the report and start at $250 per hour, plus GST.

Alternate Funders

At Grounded You Psychology, we also accept clients through WorkSafe, TAC, Victims of Crime and Private Health Insurance.

If you are not claiming a Medicare rebate, or have used all 10 sessions of your Mental Health Care Plan, and you have private health cover that includes psychology services you can claim a private health fund rebate. Rebates will vary widely depending on your health fund and your level of cover. If in doubt, please check with your health fund.

Please note that funding will need to be self-managed by each client. The client will need to pay for the full cost of the appointment on the day. A receipt can then be provided to the client to seek third-party reimbursement.

Any reports or case conferences required will be billed according to the time required to complete the additional work.

We also accept full fee paying clients who will not be using Medicare or any alternate reimbursements.

Cancellation Policy

Grounded You Psychology charges the full session fee for appointments cancelled within 24 hours of the appointment and this fee is not Medicare claimable. Please let us know with more than 24 hours if you need to chancel or reschedule your appointment. This will allow us to find you an appropriate appointment time and offer your appointment time to another client.

Grounded You Psychology will always allow you to change your appointment to telehealth to help you to attend, for any reason.
